Exhibition “CONTACT”

Where the World Meets Japanese Art and Culture

Aiming to highlight the connections between art from Japan and around the world, Maha Harada served as the director and curator for CONTACT- Where the World Meets Japanese Art and Culture, an exhibition held in conjunction with the International Council of Museums’ (ICOM) 2019 General Conference in Kyoto.

Hosted at Kiyomizu-dera, one of Kyoto’s most iconic Buddhist temples, the exhibit showcased a colorful collection of works, from Richter and Beuys to Matisse and Osamu Tezuka.

Harada also released an original novel to coincide with the exhibition.
